The basic rules of Basketball Playing
Basketball is basically running based game. About 70% or more skills are involved in FOOTWORK. It is played in a small area where explosive (very fast) movement is much more important.
All power comes from the legs. Place your foot consciously where you want to go. It is effective to beat the opponent. Legs should remain straighten for when a player jumps to shoot, attempt to block.
Exact balance of head causes proper movement of the body. To move forward our head must move forward first and for backward, head goes backwards. To maintain good vision player should keep their head in the middle and up of their body.
Like running, quick on spot stopping is also needed. The role of head as like for running is much more important for stopping also. The theories of stopping are to create an open gesture and closed gesture, flexion the knees, get the head back over the feet, and bear the head up.
Change of Direction
Players use change of direction to beat the opponent. Balance maintaining and keeping distance are required actions. To change direction to the left, a player should slow down slightly, carefully bend his knees, place his right foot forward, make a slight pivot on the ball of his right foot, stepping out with left foot explosively in the new direction. And the opposite process is to change direction to the right.
